Cookie Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
The short version
eddiegear.com sets no analytics cookies until you say yes. If you choose “No thanks”, we load no analytics script at all. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.
2. What we use
| Name | Set by | Purpose | How long | Needs your consent? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
eg_consent (local storage) | eddiegear.com | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask on every page | 6 months, then we ask again | No. It's needed to respect your choice |
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Tells visits apart so we can count how many people use a page | 2 years | Yes. Only set after “Accept analytics” |
_ga_ followed by an ID | Google Analytics 4 | Keeps the state of a visit | 2 years | Yes. Only set after “Accept analytics” |
eg_admin | eddiegear.com | Keeps the site owner signed in to the admin panel | Until the browser closes | No. It's only set for the site owner, never for visitors |
We have turned off Google's advertising features, and we don't use analytics data for advertising.
3. Your choices
- On our site. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to accept, decline, or choose in Preferences. If you decline after accepting, we stop analytics and remove its cookies from this site.
- In your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
4. Other sites
When you sign up for a free resource, your details go to our email service, Kit. When you buy Proofwork, you check out on Gumroad. Those services, and any other site we link to, may set their own cookies under their own policies.
5. Changes
If we add a tool that uses cookies, for example Microsoft Clarity for anonymous heatmaps, we will add it to this page and to the cookie choices before it runs.
